As with most Whistler hotel accommodations, wood, stone and other natural materials are used to reflect the beauty of the landscape. At the Adara Hotel, these materials are playfully juxtaposed with modernist furnishings, rich colors and innovative surface treatments to create a stylish and slightly different Whistler experience.
Offering 41 guestrooms and suites, the staff is prepared to assist guest with booking personalized recreational tours and excursions, including equipment rentals. Skiing and snowboarding, golf, river rafting, zip trekking, bungee jumping, all terrain vehicles are a few of the activities available in the immediate area. Business services such as on call secretarial services are available. Perhaps the most useful feature for the business traveler is the location of the hotel, which is literally next door to the Whistler Conference Centre.
Guestroom d�cor at the hotel also delves into the contemporary realm, encompassing features such as European design inspired seating pieces, outsized walk in showers with "rain" shower heads, sheepskin throws and original artwork. Unique elements include the "floating" fireplace, which is a fireplace built into a custom designed cabinet, modeled to look as though it's suspended in mid air. Even minor touches like wool upholstered furniture push the guestrooms past the edge of the commonplace. Spa bathrooms and luxurious beds are standard in all rooms, while the larger rooms contain amenities such as flat screen televisions, patios and, in certain units, full kitchens.
Whistler was recently named the official site of the Alpine and Nordic venues for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
